DIAMO, a hospitality technology startup focused on revenue optimization for independent hotels, has raised $4 million in seed funding to expand its all-in-one platform and accelerate global growth. The round was led by Thayer Ventures and Inovia Capital, with participation from Avalon Capital Group and other strategic angel investors. As part of the deal, Thayer Ventures Partner Tyler Carrico will join DIAMO’s board of directors.
The New York-based company provides an integrated platform that combines AI-powered room pricing, expert performance marketing, and a conversion-optimized booking engine, designed specifically for small to mid-sized hotels. With a focus on properties under 150 rooms—many of them independently owned and operated—DIAMO addresses the technology and resource constraints that often make it difficult for these operators to compete with larger brands and OTAs.
DIAMO was founded with a clear objective: simplify revenue management and digital operations for independent hoteliers through automation, centralized tools, and hands-on support. The company’s platform offers hourly price updates based on market demand and competitor activity, automated digital marketing campaigns across channels like Google, Booking.com, Expedia, and metasearch platforms, and branded websites with built-in upsell and multi-language support.
According to the company, hotels using DIAMO have reportedly achieved up to 35% increases in revenue, a 10x return on investment, and saved an average of 10 hours per week on pricing and marketing tasks.
“The revenue challenges faced by smaller independents are far more complex than what existing disconnected solutions address,” said James Kay, CEO of DIAMO. “In a world increasingly dominated by big brands and standardized OTAs, we aim to empower the independent hoteliers that give hospitality its heart. We’ve built an intuitive platform that allows them to operate with the same sophistication as major hotel groups—without the need for large teams or expensive tools.”
The company’s solution integrates seamlessly with leading property management systems (PMS), allowing hoteliers to automate their pricing, execute high-efficiency digital marketing, and manage the guest booking journey—all from a single interface.
A key part of DIAMO’s roadmap is the launch of Andi, an AI-powered assistant built to further simplify revenue operations. Andi will use real-time market data and historical performance to help hoteliers configure revenue strategies, launch ad campaigns, and make continuous, automated pricing recommendations. The tool is designed to monitor performance and keep properties aligned with their revenue goals without constant manual oversight.
With increasing pressure on independent operators to respond quickly to demand shifts, staffing limitations, and rising distribution costs, DIAMO sees Andi as a meaningful step toward more proactive, intelligent revenue management—particularly for properties without access to full-time revenue managers.
DIAMO currently serves clients across North America, Central America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, with a growing presence in secondary markets where hotel owners often lack access to centralized tech or marketing support.
The new funding will be used to enhance DIAMO’s core platform, scale its AI capabilities, and expand partnerships and integrations with leading technology providers. The company also plans to grow its team of revenue experts to continue offering hands-on guidance to hoteliers who prefer a more collaborative approach.
“DIAMO is helping independent hoteliers optimize their most important revenue levers—pricing, marketing, and bookings—through a unified and accessible platform,” said Tyler Carrico, Partner at Thayer Ventures. “They’ve identified a real gap in the market, and their traction to date speaks to the value they’re delivering.”
Unlike many legacy RMS tools that require deep expertise or costly implementations, DIAMO is positioned as a plug-and-play solution with a clear focus on time savings, cost-effectiveness, and usability. Features like branded booking engines, seamless PMS integration, and campaign automation help smaller hotel teams work more efficiently without needing to manage multiple platforms.
Clients have praised the system’s intuitive design and performance, citing reduced reliance on third-party commissions, stronger direct booking conversion rates, and better visibility into pricing opportunities. In testimonials featured on DIAMO’s website, hotel owners highlight how the platform has simplified revenue operations and allowed them to “set and forget” pricing strategies with confidence.
For DIAMO, the goal is not to replace revenue teams, but to support independent hoteliers in navigating a complex digital landscape with practical, AI-enhanced tools that yield tangible business results.
