Visit Group, the leading technology platform for the hospitality, experience, and travel industry in the Nordics, has acquired GODO, the leading hospitality software in Iceland.
“The acquisition marks a strategic milestone for Visit Group as it reinforces our leadership position in the Nordic region and accelerates our mission to create a unified platform that drives direct sales, cost efficient distribution, operational excellence, and profitability for the hospitality and experience industry”, says Magnus Emilson, Founder & executive chairman of Visit Group.
GODO’s strong presence and leadership in Iceland complement Visit Group’s existing ecosystem and creates new opportunities to better serve customers across the Nordic markets and abroad. GODO, founded in Iceland in 2012, is a leading hospitality SaaS provider, delivering comprehensive software solutions for hotels, vacation rentals, and travel agencies. Serving over 2,000 properties across 20 countries, GODO helps streamline operations, drive direct bookings, and enhance guest experiences.
“GODO is a fantastic addition to the Visit Group family,” said Richard Wiegmann, CEO of Visit Group. “They share our vision, our values, and our commitment to driving growth and innovation for our customers. Together, we will strengthen our offering, expand into new markets, and continue to deliver best-in-class solutions for the industry.”
An interesting element of GODO’s contribution is Travia. Travia plays a crucial role in connecting suppliers with travel agencies and tour operators in real time, helping clients optimize occupancy, streamline contracting, and reduce manual work. By integrating Travia into the Visit Group ecosystem, we unlock enhanced distribution capabilities and deliver increased value for our customers through more automated, scalable, and profitable sales channels.
“We are delighted to become part of Visit Group,” said Sveinn Pálsson, Co-Founder of GODO. “They share our customer-centric vision, and our products complement Visit’s offering superbly. This will accelerate our growth in the Nordics and increase the depth of solutions to our existing clients. Together, we can continue to elevate the guest experience while enabling our customers to boost revenue and operational efficiency.”
The acquisition will strengthen Visit Group’s and GODO’s ability to drive customer revenue, deliver frictionless guest experiences, and help businesses create more memorable journeys for their visitors.
