G6 Hospitality is giving Motel 6 and Studio 6 franchisees a lower-cost way to strengthen their online presence with the launch of Vision 360, an AI-powered video platform that transforms existing property photos into professionally produced marketing videos. Available through the company’s Grow platform in the United States and Canada, the service costs $20 per month, compared with the $1,000 to $1,500 G6 estimates hotels typically spend on traditional video production.

Vision 360 is also part of a broader push to modernize G6’s digital guest experience. Last year, the company introduced a redesigned My6 mobile app featuring an AI-powered recommendation engine that personalizes hotel search results, surfaces tailored offers and helps connect travelers with the most relevant Motel 6 and Studio 6 properties based on their preferences and location. G6 said the revamped app delivered faster performance, reduced booking friction and contributed to a 14 percent year-over-year increase in direct bookings. Together, the My6 app and Vision 360 illustrate how the company is applying AI across both guest acquisition and digital merchandising, combining personalized discovery with richer property presentation to improve conversion and support franchisee occupancy.

Developed by G6 Hospitality’s in-house technology team, Vision 360 uses generative AI to enhance existing images, assemble them into short promotional videos and generate original background music. The result is a polished property tour that can showcase guestrooms, amenities and common areas without requiring owners to schedule a video shoot, hire outside production companies or invest in new equipment.

The videos can be distributed across G6 brand websites, the My6 mobile app and other booking channels, giving franchisees a faster way to upgrade online listings. According to G6, more than 60 franchise properties subscribed to the service within the first 24 hours after its launch.

For economy and extended-stay hotels, where marketing budgets are often constrained, the business case is straightforward. A subscription that costs less than many hotels spend on a single night’s room revenue has the potential to improve property presentation across multiple digital channels. Even a modest increase in bookings could make the investment worthwhile.

The launch also reflects broader changes in how travelers shop for accommodations. Expedia Group Advertising research found that 71 percent of travelers said video influenced their travel decisions, compared with 24 percent who cited static images, underscoring the growing importance of richer visual content throughout the booking journey. For hotel operators, that means photos are no longer enough to carry the full weight of digital merchandising, especially when travelers are comparing properties quickly across brand websites, online travel agencies, search engines and mobile apps.

For G6, the platform also fits into a broader post-acquisition technology story. PRISM, the OYO parent company formerly known as Oravel Stays, completed its $525 million acquisition of G6 Hospitality from Blackstone Real Estate in late 2024, adding the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands to a global hospitality and travel technology portfolio that has emphasized digital tools, distribution and operating platforms. Vision 360 reflects that direction by using centralized technology to give individual franchisees a capability many would not otherwise build or purchase on their own.

The market for hotel visual merchandising is already competitive, although most established providers serve a different segment of the industry. Matterport has become a leading provider of immersive 3D digital twins and virtual tours for hotels, resorts and event venues. Visiting Media and its TrueTour platform focus on virtual site visits and interactive content used by sales teams, meeting planners and group business. Leonardo Hospitality specializes in managing and distributing hotel images, videos and other digital assets across brand websites, online travel agencies and third-party travel platforms.

Vision 360 takes a more accessible approach. Rather than requiring specialized cameras, 360-degree image capture, drone footage or dedicated production services, it repurposes photography hotels already have into professionally edited video content. That approach aligns well with the needs of large franchise systems, where affordability, speed and brand consistency often matter as much as production quality.

The platform’s long-term success will depend not only on the quality of the videos it creates but also on how responsibly the technology is used. Hotels have always faced the challenge of ensuring marketing accurately reflects the guest experience. AI can improve image quality and presentation, but it also increases the importance of maintaining realistic representations of guestrooms, amenities and public spaces. Overly enhanced visuals risk creating guest expectations that properties cannot meet.

That places greater emphasis on brand oversight. Image selection, enhancement standards, room-type accuracy, accessibility features, amenity descriptions and renovation updates all need to be managed carefully if AI-generated content is going to remain credible over time. As hotels renovate guestrooms and refresh public spaces, video content will also need to be updated so digital listings continue to reflect the property guests will actually encounter.

More broadly, Vision 360 illustrates how hotel merchandising is evolving. Room rates, reviews, location and loyalty programs remain central to booking decisions, but visual storytelling is becoming another competitive differentiator. A short property video can help prospective guests better understand room layouts, exterior access, parking, breakfast areas and other practical details before making a reservation. For many economy and extended-stay travelers, reducing uncertainty can be especially valuable because the decision is often practical and comparison-driven.

The launch also reflects a broader shift in hotel technology. Much of the industry’s recent AI investment has focused on guest messaging, revenue management and customer service. Marketing tools are beginning to follow the same path, with AI increasingly being used to simplify routine work, lower operating costs and improve conversion rather than showcase technology for its own sake.

For Motel 6 and Studio 6 franchisees, Vision 360 offers a practical way to improve digital merchandising without undertaking a traditional video production project. For G6 Hospitality, it expands the portfolio of technology services available to franchise owners while reinforcing brand consistency across the system. For the industry as a whole, it provides another example of how generative AI is steadily finding its place in everyday hotel operations.
